Ron Silver (actor, 1946)

Tony Award-winner Ron Silver is known for work on Broadway, screen and television. On screen, he has given much-acclaimed performances in Paul Mazursky's 'Enemies: A Love Story,and the Oscar winning Reversal of Fortune. His credits also include Silkwood,Blue Steel, Timecop and The Arrival."

Silver was recently praised for his performance as Henry Kissinger in TNT's Kissinger and Nixon and received an Emmy nomination for his work in the television film Billionaire Boys Club.

On stage, Silver won Broadway's Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for his performance in David Mamet's Speed the Plow. He also starred on Broadway in David Rabe's Hurlyburly and Social Security, both under the direction of Mike Nichols. Silver also appeared in Roger Rosenblatt's one-man play And.

Before becoming an actor, Silver received a Master's Degree in Chinese History, and traveled throughout Asia and Russia for more than a year. Upon returning to this country, he did social work for the Department of Social Services and taught high school before starting acting training with Herbert Berghof, Uta Hagen and Lee Strasberg. Silver currently serves as President of Actors Equity.
